GuideRock structures and arranges trade finance so you can pay suppliers up front, fulfill larger orders, and accelerate collections, all without pledging core assets or diluting ownership.
A new customer doubles your order volume. A key supplier moves you from net-30 to 50% down. A shipment sits in port while your customer waits to pay on delivery. Each one is a sign the business is working. Together, they drain your cash, and your bank’s answer is usually the same: “Let’s revisit your line next quarter.”
Growth gets paid late, but suppliers expect to be paid now. That gap shows up on your balance sheet as stretched payables, inventory you can’t convert, and a revolver drawn to the limit. The usual fixes don’t fit: a bigger line takes months and more collateral, generic financing products are built for someone else’s cash cycle, and some lenders simply tell you to come back when you’re bigger.
The fix isn’t more debt. It’s capital structured around how your business actually moves goods and gets paid.
A well-structured trade finance facility does three things for a growing middle market business that a standard bank line can’t do alone.
Five steps. No boilerplate product pitch. A senior structurer on the phone within one business day.
What are you buying, from whom, on what terms, for which customer? A fast working-capital diagnostic shows where financing moves the needle.
PO finance, supplier finance, letters of credit, pre- or post-shipment, receivables, or a mix. Each stage of the cycle is matched to the right instrument.
We bring the lenders, insurers, and export credit agencies, run the process, negotiate pricing, and align the paperwork, so it closes as one coherent structure.
Suppliers paid. Shipments funded. Receivables purchased on acceptance. Your finance team works with one point of contact.
Add lenders, raise limits, and expand into new markets as the business grows. We stay on as your advisor, not a one-and-done broker.
Banks sell you their products. Factors buy your invoices and move on. We structure financing around the real shape of your business and the reality that most transactions need more than one instrument.
Most transactions require a combination of structures, not a single product. GuideRock aligns the right instrument to each stage of the trade cycle, and the right capital provider to each instrument.
GuideRock is not a retail lender or a platform lender. We are a structuring partner for middle market companies that have outgrown what a single bank line can do for them, but don’t yet have a dedicated treasury team building custom facilities in-house. We fill that role for you.
Single transactions from roughly $1M. Programs from $10M into nine figures. Designed around the deal, not a product shelf.
Where the structure supports it, especially with insurance wraps or strong receivable profiles, facilities look to the transaction, not the founder.
Your revolver stays available for payroll, rent, and the unexpected. GuideRock arranges financing for the specific transactions that would otherwise drain the line.
Indicative terms in days, not quarters. Senior structurers take the first call, not a relationship manager who has to escalate.
Clean reporting into NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage Intacct, Oracle Cloud, and SAP. Month-end close stays simple.
The first facility isn’t the last. As revenue grows, we add lenders, raise limits, and expand into new markets.
A middle market CEO or CFO typically has two options when working capital gets tight: push the bank, or go direct to a single-product lender. Here’s how GuideRock compares.
Dimension
One product, sized to one asset class
Often higher; priced for one product, not your full cycle
6–12+ weeks; renewed annually
Multiple banks, funds, insurers, ECAs per deal
One balance sheet; one product
Combines PO, supplier, receivables, LC, ECA, insurance
One product only, such as PO or receivables
Avoided where the deal allows
Non-notification structures available
Limited to one product; you manage the rest
A new facility shouldn’t create a new back-office headache. We structure deals so reporting, reconciliation, and audit fit into the processes your team already runs.
No. GuideRock is a structuring and arranging partner. The capital comes from a network of banks, funds, insurers, and export credit agencies. We sit on your side of the table, not the lender’s.
Factors and platform lenders sell a single product — usually receivables advance or PO advance — on a standardized basis. Useful for one-off gaps, but it doesn’t scale, and it’s usually the most expensive money in the capital stack. GuideRock structures multi-instrument, multi-lender facilities that grow with the business.
Wherever possible, no. For receivables-backed and insurance-wrapped structures in particular, we can usually build facilities that look to the transaction and counterparty risk rather than the founder. Where a limited guarantee is unavoidable, we’ll tell you up front.
No — and we actively work to preserve it. Your bank sits inside the facility where they’re the right lender. GuideRock brings in additional capital when the bank has reached its limit. Your RCF stays for payroll and the unexpected.
Often not, for trade finance. Because facilities are underwritten against the transaction — your customer’s creditworthiness, the receivable, the insurance wrap — strong audited history matters less than it does for corporate lending. We’ll tell you quickly whether the structure fits.
Single transactions from roughly $1M. Program-level facilities from $10M up into nine figures. If you’re under $1M per transaction, a factor or a fintech is usually a better fit, and we’ll say so.
Single transaction: 1–3 weeks to indicative terms, often closing in 3–6 weeks. Multi-lender program: 6–10 weeks from kickoff to first draw.
Arranger fees paid by the facility and disclosed up front. Where applicable, ongoing structuring fees on drawn volume. No success-only incentives that would push us toward the wrong structure.
That’s fine. Most of our clients start with a single transaction and graduate into a program as the business grows.
